LIMC Meet 05/18/2012

Last night's meet was exactly why this club was founded. The turnout was great and the weather was amazing for our meet. Mustang Helen traveled all the way from Staten Island, NY to come to our meet in West Islip, which shows the dedication our members have for our cause. We had about 20 cars join us for this meet and they ranged from Mustangs to Challengers.

It was great to start the meet at 7:00, the sun was still in the sky and was still high enough to warm the air. The meet ended around 1030 - 11 pm for most of us and it was such a pleasure to see everyone and meet new people.

The Thursday night meets at Bob's has so far been a success and we're looking forward to next weeks meet!

The 1st meet of Long Island Muscle Cars 5/3/12

For the first time since it's inception in October 2011, Long Island Muscle Cars (LIMC) had an outdoor weekly meet. The weather was unfortunately not ideal for a meet but we made the best of it anyway. We had a great turn out, weather considered, and the members got along great with one another.

The members who attended the meet were :

Donato ( Spicymeataball) - LIMC Pres.
Steve (StealthGT) - LIMC VP
Kevin (StangSims39) - LIMC Event Coord. Suffolk Cty
Don  (Don5.0) - LIMC Member
Crystal (CrystalGT) - LIMC Member
Maryanne (MoparMaryanne) - LIMC Member and May COTM
Dennis (20Tahoe06) - LIMC Member

On the cold and misty night of the meet we had seven members show up for a meeting at 7 pm. Seven members who got along great, shared laughs and really bonded. I don't think there was one moment that could be thought of as uncomfortable or uneasy in the group. All in all, at the end of the day that's exactly what Long Island Muscle Cars is about. A group of people, who enjoy their cars and the company of others with the same interest. Sure, the weather wasn't great for pictures, but we still had a good time, and this week will be better! We have a few more members coming down to the meet spot, the spirits in the club are high, and the cars look awesome.

Long Island Muscle Cars and LIMUSCLECARS.COM couldn't have asked for a better first meeting. It was great meeting everyone and we look forward to seeing you all this Thursday, May 10th!

A note from the President

Since Long Island Muscle Cars (LIMC) was started back in November of 2011 we have been making preparations for the 2012 Muscle Car season. This included many behind the scenes designs, and general club formatting. Now, we are almost at that time of year and I know the excitement on the site is building.

Soon the summer sun will be on our cars, the smell of rubber and gasoline at the car shows that are scattered across Long Island. We have some great sponsors to help out with making your car ready for the shows and giving you some extra go.

Reaper Performance (www.reaperperformance.com) has been with us from the start. They have great prices on everything from BBK headers to Vortech Superchargers and cover all American muscle car makes and models.

Auto Elements Detailing is our newest sponsor and they have you covered in the "Show" aspect. Dan does amazing work and will make your paint look brand new. The extra mile for perfection isn't lost in what can surely be described as a form of artwork. Auto Elements pays attention to detail and the pictures you find on the forum (forum.limusclecars.com) don't do his work justice.

Together we can make the debut of Long Island Muscle Cars and LIMUSCLECARS.COM amazing and memorable. We have been steadily gaining members and a following on Facebook and Twitter. That's a sure start!

With the warmer weather also comes added dangers of increased drunk drivers, out of school children on the roads, and reckless driving of all sorts. I wish our members safety and hope they remain in situations they can manage during this car season. At Long Island Muscle Cars we are a family and we will always look after one another.

Thank you all for your dedication and allegiance to Long Island Muscle Cars. I look forward to spending this season with you! Let's make this season count!
